Aspettando Manifesta 12 is a cultural program to learn about Manifesta Biennial before the event itself. There was a need to develop a neutral graphic identity and to stage the history and information of Manifesta in the interior, while the Teatro worked as hub.

Aspettando Manifesta 12 is held in the newly re-opened Teatro Garibaldi assigned by the City of Palermo, the Teatro functions as the Manifesta 12 headquarter and central meeting point; for the interior set up each loggia hosted the information material for one edition of Manifesta.

Anticipating the forthcoming Art Biennial taking place in Palermo in 2018, Marginal Studio developed the graphic design for the exhibition, both for the interior and the exterior set ups. The goal was to create a contemporary and simple design while making sure its bold, impactful and cohesive enough to feel as one unified Manifesta experience.

Outdoor, it was requested to maximize the presence and visibility of Manifesta both from the main traffic and Piazza Magione, enhancing the visibility and the attractiveness of the Teatro Garibaldi’s entrance, making it a reference in the urban landscape of Palermo.
