Design workshop for kids

A workshop dedicated to children organized within the project SOU - School of Architecture for Children of Farm Cultural Park to reflect on the concepts of public, private and common space through the material experimentation of a material that is the basis of architecture: plaster.

The workshop invites children that are participating in the SOU programme to explore and questioning the space around them, observing how common areas are often neglected or even abandoned.

The kids are guided through a path of spatial analysis made possible thanks to the interaction with chalk, an essential material for architecture, which requires the elaboration of a design process: from drawing to the creation of a cardboard mould in which to pour the liquid mixture.

The participants designed volumes inspired by real objects of urban furniture - such as benches, traffic dividers, planters, ... - which allowed them to express their expectations and desires on the way to live common spaces.
